  • First and foremost, I'm one of the contestants in the current round of the Marvel Throwdown, with a pairing of Bruce/Betty and a prompt of "date night" with a few other things, so I'm scrambling through that.

  • Then I'm trying to finish [livejournal.com profile] jou's Xmas/birthday fic, which is at around 9000 words and will probably end up in the 13,000-15,000-word range.

  • Then [livejournal.com profile] feels_like_fire and I have a giant White Collar/Skyfall crossover we're plotting out, and that's a lot of fun at the moment.

  • Then the Tony/Pepper/Steve Thing of Massiveness and Feels(TM) is poking at my brain again.

  • Somewhere on the back burner, I've got:
    • A sequel to a thing that I wrote more than two years ago that I've got about 9000 words of and could stand to finish, even though I don't think anyone cares about the story

    • The rest of the Stevetasha series (there's an overarching thing that I could finish)

    • The sequel to the 00Q thing I wrote, which . . . I have no idea what's going to happen, really

And then all the other things crowding into my consciousness.

How are you-all?

I'm making a note to read the thing you wrote two years ago.

It occurs to me that a vast amount of what I write is the Star Trek equivalent of Marauders-era fic, and I don't know if you've run into any of that yet but, well, that's what that is. Pike before the Enterprise. (Cait's not an OC; she's from a couple of tie-in novels.)

I have but haven't read any. I love Pike's character in the original pilot (and then that two-part thing they chopped into) and think Number One was, like, the greatest (she got to wear PANTS!), and am a little devastated there wasn't a woman XO on the ship, but.

I am reading a series "Magpie" that has Pike and No 1 as characters (Pike's raising 16-year-old Jim right now) which I really like, because No 1 is...hysterical.

Definitely excited to read your take on everyone.

I have written Pike so many times and in so many incarnations, thanks to being a lieutenant on the good ship Pike/One, that yeah, if you dig through my AO3 there's a lot going on there. Also I'd rec [livejournal.com profile] imachar's Pike/Boyce series; her writing is seriously gorgeous and decidedly NC-17.

(Boyce, as you'll see, has been fancast for AOS as Mark Harmon.)

Happy to encourage you to write a sequel to "that thing you wrote two years ago" You are about the only person whose "het" I will read...and Pike with One and Cait is just a lovely, lovely concept...

I'm sitting here, sucking on a cinnamon-pop, looking and the rain/snow/sleet/ice and writing Pike!angst, which is a surprisingly relaxing way to spend an afternoon...

Ha, I always feel weird characterizing it (that particular threesome) as "het," although I guess the "het not straight" tag would apply.

Apparently Winter Storm Q is supposed to hit here/near here, and I'm kind of happy, because Q (Trek or 007, I'm happy), and also because we get six inches of fresh snow to make everything pretty again. So tomorrow will be my relaxing afternoon!
