knitting

I apologize for the extreme randomness, but I can't complain about this on fb for various reasons (mostly being that the mother of the recipient is one of my friends--well, actually my cousin, but still) so:

I AM SO FUCKING SICK OF THIS VERY SMALL TODDLER SWEATER I'M KNITTING AND IT JUST HIT ME ABOUT HALF AN HOUR AGO AND I STILL HAVE A SLEEVE AND A HALF AND SOME FINISHING TO GO BUT THE PATTERN IS BORING, BUT NOT BORING ENOUGH THAT I CAN KNIT WITHOUT WATCHING THE PATTERN AND TICKING OFF ROWS, AND ALSO I HATE KNITTING THINGS FLAT BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE TO SEW THEM TOGETHER LATER, SO WHY ON EARTH AM I KNITTING THIS PATTERN AFTER ALL?!

(answer: because it's cute.)

My next sweater is going to be stockinette in the round. MILES AND MILES OF MINDLESS KNITTING, WOO.

I vote for stockinette, too, because it's the only thing I ever learned to do. And did that badly, too, because I could never control the tension on my yarn and even a scarf ended up looking like a tube of toothpaste that someone squeezed in the middle.

Still, that's a damn cute sweater. I'm sure the recipient will be overjoyed. :D

Stockinette in the round is even easier--all knit stitches.

If the recipient isn't overjoyed--she'll only be a year old--then I'm sure literally everyone else in the room will be profoundly surprised that I can knit things that aren't, like, hats. Including my mother. (Never mind that this is the third or fourth sweater she's seen me knit.)

Hahahaha! Good rant. I hope you feel better. I wish I could knit. That looks like a cute project.

I do! I'm almost done with the second sleeve so now I'm staring at the home stretch with a little bit of trepidation (some things I don't really know how to do are coming up), but I'll be done! so! soon! This is why small sweaters are the best.

Oh good! On a tangent, I have never never never forgotten you telling me about knitting & porn. Hahahaha.

I do regularly sing the "phallic object" song. :)

Right now it's Knitting and Supernatural, but alas.
