Thanks! I'm glad you liked the story. I can't stand Winona-the-villain either.
In my head a lot of this was my revenge on the 'I dare you to do better' line, which I thought was pretty horrible. Especially if Pike actually knew George Kirk.
And ice cream cures all ills!
